A classic ketchup-based BBQ sauce with a Tropical Vibes twist. Dark rum adds warmth and depth, while apple cider vinegar and brown sugar keep it balanced for grilled chicken, ribs, burgers, and steak tips.
Ingredients
- 2 cups ketchup
- 1/2 cup Tropical Vibes dark rum
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tablespoons molasses
- 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- Optional: 1 tablespoon lemon juice if you want it brighter
Instructions
- Stir everything together in a saucepan.
- Simmer over low heat for 15–20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until slightly thickened.
- Brush onto chicken, ribs, burgers, or steak tips during the last few minutes of grilling.
Use as a finishing sauce, not a marinade. Brush it on near the end of grilling so the sauce caramelizes without burning.
