A classic ketchup-based BBQ sauce with a Tropical Vibes twist. Dark rum adds warmth and depth, while apple cider vinegar and brown sugar keep it balanced for grilled chicken, ribs, burgers, and steak tips.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups ketchup
  • 1/2 cup Tropical Vibes dark rum
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons molasses
  • 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • Optional: 1 tablespoon lemon juice if you want it brighter

Instructions

  1. Stir everything together in a saucepan.
  2. Simmer over low heat for 15–20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until slightly thickened.
  3. Brush onto chicken, ribs, burgers, or steak tips during the last few minutes of grilling.

Use as a finishing sauce, not a marinade. Brush it on near the end of grilling so the sauce caramelizes without burning.
